Dr Paddy Ryan has been in practice in Ballyphehane for 36 years having qualified in UCC and undertaken GP training in northern England. He began working as a GP in this area in 1983. He established the Park Family Practice in 1999 and over the years gradually built up the current team. He is also director of the Cork GP Training Programme where he has an organisational and teaching commitment. He has interests in dermatology, psychiatry and healthcare of marginalised groups including addiction.
Dr. Joe McAuliffe
Dr. Joe McAuliffe qualified in Medicine in UCC in 1997 and completed the Cork GP Training scheme in 2002. He worked for some time in New Zealand before joining The Park Family Practice in 2003. He has a Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine from UCC as well as post-graduate diplomas in Child Health, Diabetes Mellitus and Cardiovascular Disease in Primary Care. He has a special interest in sports injuries and rehabilitation, as well as Diabetes Mellitus and cardiovascular health in general.
Dr. Sadhbh Ni Lionaird
Dr Sadhbh Ni Lionaird attended UCC and graduated in 2007. Following this she worked in Western Australia for a year and on her return gained experience in hospital medicine before commencing the GP training scheme. She went on to complete the MRCPI (General Medicine) qualification before then qualifying as a GP in 2014. She has also completed diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and in Medicine for the Elderly. She holds an Advanced Certificate in Contraception. She has particular interest in the areas of women’s and children’s health as well as care of the elderly. She is qualified in LARC (long acting reversible contraception) including coil and implanon insertion.
Peg trained as a nurse in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin before working for many years in the ICU at Mercy Hospital. Having taken a few years off for her own family Peg joined the Practice in 2005. She is an excellent phlebotomist, baby and travel vaccinator, and a qualified smear taker. She works with the Doctors here providing care of all patient’s needs especially Diabetic patients. Most of all she is professional, caring and courteous with all patients.
